Food
"Eating - one of the three things we do every day. The other two are known to nobody"
Chinese saying
(written on a paper cloth in a restaurant)
When I was younger, I remember watching at blogs from around the world and discovering things that were so new and alien to me. It felt so important that I would spend hours watching, searching and saving images. As if there is some sort of energy that pushes me to find stuff, to get informed and visually inspired.

One such example is the image with the triangular sandwiches, which occurred to me maybe 4 or 5 years ago. I remember the fascination it brought to my eyes and my mind and how it made me think about how I'd like to have this kind of meals more often. I didn't pay much attention to it until recently, when I started to work on the idea of a personal museum and was able to reflect.

During the period in which I saw it first I was already living for around 4 years outside Bulgaria and was exposed to different culinary cultures already. This image still was provoking waves of good mood, creative thoughts and will to live and eat better. I liked to see it from time to time and daydream.

Reflecting back on this I can see that this type of breakfast has become part of my everyday life, absolutely unconsciously. Living in Rotterdam the access to exotic fruits like avocado has made it so easy and affordable to have such diet, but back then it seemed like something so unreachable. Just to give you an idea of what a typical breakfast was for me and for a good part of my fellow Bulgarians, I have this image of a Lyutenitsa spread on top of bread with some white (feta like) cheese. This spread is time consuming to make, but is found in every household. It is so popular because it is made from the seasonal regional vegetables (tomato, pepper, aubergine).

Here's a funny story:

In 2017, there was a case in which the police caught a huge amount of drugs hidden in lyutenitsa jars on the border. Immediately after the internet exploded with memes, funny quotes and someone even made a branding campaign with the face of Pablo Escobar.
